Sell or consign?

If you have clothes that you are interested in selling, practically Perfect has a couple of options to make that happen!  We are always looking to keep our inventory turning, and we need your clothes to do it!

Before we get into the details of selling or consigning you clothes, we should go over a few rules that pertain to ALL clothes that you bring into our store.

1. Items should be brought to the store in baskets, totes, boxes or on hangers. Items should NOT be brought in garbage bags
2. Items should be freshly laundered and folded or hung up. They should be free of stains, rips, and holes. Items should not show much wear or fading. All buttons buttoned, snaps snapped and zippers zipped. Items should not smell of smoke or pets.  We cannot accept clothing with removed manufacturer and sizing tags.

We accept all brands, but certain brands will sell better than others. Discount Department stores such as Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target will be priced accordingly and could be passed up depending on our current need for those brands. Better brands like Gymboree, Gap, Childrenís Place, Janie and Jake, Justice, Aeropostale, Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie and boutique brands will be priced higher and almost always accepted.

4. Clothing items should be in style. A general rule of thumb is no older than 3-4 years old.

Consignments are accepted anytime the store is open. You are welcome to bring items in and stay while we sort them (although we canít guarantee how long this will take) or Drop and Go, leave your items and we will go through them later.

We will accept Fall and Winter clothing for consignment beginning August 1st and Spring and Summer clothing for consignment beginning March 1st.   We will buy any season anytime

7. We accept clothing and clothing items such as shoes, hats, backpacks, and other clothing accessories. We also accept DVD's (G or PG) with original case, and kids books.   We do not accept items such as toys, strollers, high chairs, cribs, and stuffed animals.

We will only accept items we think our customers will buy. Please understand that some items cannot be accepted based upon condition, current inventory levels and our past sales experience.

All right!  Now that we are past "the rules", lets get on to the methods!

Selling your clothes directly to us

This method is the least complicated and basically is just like it sounds. We will offer you cash for your clothes based on the above rules, the condition of the items, and the season.  We will normally give you 25-35% of the price that we would sell the clothes at.  This means if an item would list in our store for $3.00, we would offer you .75 to a $1.00 for it.  Selling outright is attractive to the client in that they leave the store with cash in hand.  However, we are taking the risk in having to turn that item for a profit. This is why we offer a lower amount for a direct purchase. We are assuming all the risk for the item.

Consigning your clothes

Consigning is a little more complicated, but mainly on our end!  You bring us your clothes and we hand select what we think will sell in our store.  We will price all of your items for what we believe is a fair price, and will will display your items for up to 60 days.  Each time one of your items sells, the computer will add 40% of the sale to your account (that's .40 cents of every dollar sold)  That's it in a nutshell!    You can check your account at any time and request your monies.

You also have an option to keep your money in your account and use it for store credit.  If you do this, you will receive an extra 10% discount on anything you purchase with store credit, making your total commission on your sales 50%!

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions concerning either method.  We have consignment contracts on hand in the store for you to sign if you decide to consign your clothes with us.
